Modern Stone Age Awarded $52,000 Maryland Manufacturing 4.0 Grant

We are thrilled to announce that Modern Stone Age has been awarded a $52,000 grant from the Maryland Manufacturing 4.0 program. This grant is a significant milestone for us, enabling the integration of advanced technologies into our operations while preserving our commitment to traditional, scratch-made food practices.

Embracing Innovation in Traditional Food Production

The Maryland Manufacturing 4.0 program aims to support manufacturers in adopting cutting-edge technologies to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. For Modern Stone Age, this grant will facilitate:

  • Enhanced Production Efficiency: Implementing advanced equipment to streamline processes without compromising the quality and authenticity of our products.

  • Improved Quality Control: Utilizing technology to maintain the highest standards in our scratch-made offerings.

  • Employee Development: Providing our team with training on new technologies, blending traditional skills with modern tools.

Staying True to Our Roots

While we embrace these technological advancements, our core mission remains unchanged: delivering nourishing, scratch-made food that connects us to ancestral culinary traditions. The integration of new technologies will support this mission by:

  • Ensuring Consistency: Advanced tools will help us maintain the quality and flavor profiles our community loves.

  • Expanding Our Reach: Improved efficiency allows us to share our products with a broader audience without sacrificing our artisanal approach.

  • Sustaining Our Values: Technology will assist in reducing waste and promoting sustainability, aligning with our commitment to responsible practices.

Upping our shipping game!

But that’s not all—this grant is also helping us launch frozen shipping! We’ve invested in a blast freezer and are working with Farm and Fork to develop the best methods for shipping our high-quality, wild-fermented croissants across the country. That means soon, you’ll be able to enjoy our handmade, nutrient-dense pastries no matter where you live!

We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the support of our amazing community that continues to fuel our growth. Stay tuned for more updates as we roll out these exciting new capabilities!
