Experience the Modern Stone Age Sanctuary in Chestertown, a tranquil retreat adjacent to the Modern Stone Age Kitchen in partnership with Cross Street Realtors. Embrace the 'Eat Like a Human' ethos in a beautifully designed sanctuary with two bedrooms, one & a half baths, a fully equipped kitchen, private workspace, and inviting living spaces. Enjoy complimentary breakfast at the MSAK, join classes at the Eastern Shore Food Lab, explore Chestertown's charming shops and riverfront, or look for your future home with Cross Street Realtors, all while creating lasting memories in this picturesque town.

The middle level offers an open floor plan, allowing for quality time together. The living room is perfect for relaxation, and the adjacent dining area is great for enjoying meals as a family or couple or playing one of the many games provided. The fully equipped kitchen gives you the freedom to prepare your own delicious meals, and the Modern Stone Age Kitchen provides a convenient dining option right next door.

The third floor features two bedrooms each with a queen bed, providing comfortable sleeping arrangements for everyone with large closets to keep things organized. A full bath with shower/tub combination complete the 3rd floor sleeping arrangements.

Booking for the Sanctuary is only done though this website.

  • We want to ensure that your stay is as seamless and convenient as possible, starting from the moment you arrive.

    To access the space, you will find a smart lock on the front door of the apartment. Prior to your check-in time, you will receive a unique code that will grant you entry. No need to worry about keys or coordinating pick-up times—simply enter the code and step into your home away from home.

    The smart lock provides a secure and hassle-free way to access the space, giving you the freedom to arrive at your convenience. It's just one of the many modern amenities we offer to enhance your stay and make you feel right at home.

  • Our Modern Stone Age Sanctuary is centrally situated in the heart of Chestertown, offering easy walking access to a vibrant array of amenities. From restaurants and galleries to shopping destinations and the farmers market on Saturday mornings, everything you need is just a stone's throw away. Plus, with our Modern Stone Age Kitchen and Food Lab are located right next door - what more could you want??

    Getting Here

    Nearest airports: BWI and PHL; if you are coming in the summer on a weekend, it is best to avoid the Chesapeake Bay Bridge so fly into Philly

    Uber is not readily available so renting a car is best from the airport.

  • A $20 gift card is included with each stay so you can have breakfast with us at the Modern Stone Age Kitchen.

    We have also provided you all with a gourmet coffee bar so you can fix your caffeine how you'd like. There are beans of our exclusive Rise Up Costa Rica "Drink Like a Human" coffee for you to try!

With only one exclusive accommodation available, your booking is unique and highly valued. Due to the limited nature of our accommodations and the preparation required for each guest, we have implemented the following cancellation policy:

    Payment:
    50% due at time of booking. Remaining balance due 7 day(s) before arrival.

    Cancellation by Guest:

    50% of paid prepayments refundable when canceled 14 day(s) before arrival or earlier. 0% refundable if canceled after.

    Cancellation by Modern Stone Age Sanctuary:

    In the rare event that we need to cancel your reservation, you will be notified as soon as possible, and you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule your stay for another date of equal value.

    Non-Profit Considerations:

    As a non-profit organization, the Modern Stone Age Sanctuary relies on your support and understanding. Your participation helps us continue our mission of providing a nurturing and educational environment for our community.
