From Confusion to Connection: Taking Back Our Food & Health

We have never had so much information about food, diet, and health — and as a result, we’ve never been more confused. We are so distanced from our food — where it comes from, how it is sourced, how it is prepared — that most of us don’t even know anyone in our food chain anymore. This distance and lack of connection leaves us vulnerable. Over decades, under our noses, the grocery store aisles and fast-food chains have become the reflection of this disconnection: ultra-processed, nutrient-poor, and harmful to our health.

But here’s the truth -

The solution isn’t simply to keep listening to someone else tell you what to do next. Empowerment comes not from blindly following, but from listening with purpose, asking questions, and informing yourself. Too often, it’s the charismatic voices that dominate the conversation, whether they’re right or wrong. Real empowerment happens when you pause, think, ask, and decide for yourself. That creates a journey with direction — not a circular chase of the latest trend.

I am grateful for the chance to share our Eat Like a Human message through so many podcasts. Most recently, I joined Alex Clark on her podcast — the largest platform I’ve spoken on to date. We covered everything from detoxifying potatoes to spotting fake sourdough - take a listen below!

A “Very Important” Class

Alex even released a vlog on YouTube about her visit to our sourdough bread class last January. Watch all the way to the end for some serious “very important” bloopers! Podcasts are an incredible way to connect, learn, and be entertained. Christina and I are working on launching our own soon!

The Ancestral Table: Where Knowledge Becomes Empowerment

But what excites me even more is the launch of our new community — The Ancestral Table. This is where empowerment becomes real. It’s not just about listening. It’s about engaging. Thinking. Asking questions. Trying. Failing. Trying again. And learning together. This is the place where you don’t just learn what to do, but also why and how.

Take sourdough bread. It’s one thing to hear that it’s safer to eat than other bread — it’s another to deeply understand how wild bacteria and yeast transform gluten, deactivate lectins and phytates, and create something entirely new. And then, to learn how to do it in your own kitchen. The same goes for fermented dairy, vegetables, nose-to-tail butchering, and so much more.

This is reconnection. This is empowerment. This is the journey toward health.

The Power of Shared Learning

And perhaps most importantly, this is about community. Too often, the pursuit of health feels lonely — like you’re working in a vacuum. Podcasts and books provide valuable knowledge, but the dialogue is one-way. The Ancestral Table offers true interaction, where you can learn not only from Christina and me but also from one another. That shared experience, that give-and-take, is where the deepest learning — and empowerment — happens.

I am so excited to begin this journey with you. Let’s take back ownership of our food, our health, and our future — together. Hope you will join us for your seat at the Table!

Candid - and truthful - Q&A at the end of each session!
